Berean Ministry (the “app” and the website at bereanministry.com) provides this policy to explain what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information — the email address and password you provide when you create an account. Passwords are never stored in plain text; we keep only a salted hash.
• Your activity in the app — your reading positions (“Continue Reading”), bookmarks, highlights, Verse-of-the-Day preferences, and the research questions you ask.
• Technical data — standard server logs such as IP address, timestamps, and error diagnostics used to keep the service running and secure.

How we use your information

• To provide your account and sync your reading data (bookmarks, highlights, position) across your devices.
• To answer the questions you submit in Find, grounded in the Berean Ministry library.
• To send you transactional email — password-reset codes, and the daily verse reminder only if you turn it on.
• To maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the service.

Third-party processing

When you use Find, your question is sent to our providers (Anthropic and Google) only to generate an answer grounded in the library. Audio narration is generated with Google Text-to-Speech from the library texts. We do not use your personal data to train any models.

Service providers

We share data only with the vendors that operate the service on our behalf — application hosting (Railway), email delivery (Resend), and the providers above (Anthropic, Google Cloud). They process data solely to provide their service to us.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and its associated data at any time by emailing info.b@bereanministry.com.

Security

Passwords are stored as salted hashes and all traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date above reflects the latest version.
