Assembled now with joy to celebrate

Thy holy Supper, Lord on Thee we wait,

That such unfathomable love may find

Response that shall refresh Thy longing mind.

Whilst Thou art absent from this world is set

Thy Supper and we prove the love that met

And vanquished Satan’s power. As Thy freed men

Thy death we show till Thou shalt come again.

Thy perfect love that could despise the shame

Of Calvary’s death will now its answer claim

In joy from those who know its greatest wealth,

For Thou for us deliv’redst up Thyself.

That mighty love, in constancy unmatched,

Chose thus to prove itself to one attached

By purposes divine and heavenly kin—

Though still on earth—and meet response to win.
