THE CALL OF LOVE
J. Gaskin
‘Come unto Me’, our blessed Saviour cried,
‘All who by heavy burdens are oppressed,
Ye shall find peace and solace by My side;
Come unto Me and I will give you rest’.
‘Come follow Me, My feet the path have trod,
Have known the cares and troubles of the way,
And they have traced the way that leads to God,
Through conflict here to everlasting day’.
‘Come after Me, for of you I would make,
Fishers of men in faithful witness here,
Shame and reproach I suffered for your sake;
Those who endure shall in My glory share’.
‘Come walk with Me and in communion sweet
Enjoy the precious nearness of my love,
Find in God’s will a pathway for thy feet,
Till thou in white shalt walk with Me above’.
