SHARING Two recent letters have given me an impression of the happy results of sharing spiritual things. It is one of our rich blessings that the Father has made us fit for sharing the portion of the saints in light (Colossians 1: 12). This works out in many ways. If any one of us receives some spiritual touch there is all—round joy and benefit in sharing it.

The first letter, from an elderly sister, said how cheered she had been by some jottings of a meeting sent to her by two schoolgirls. That illustrates the way we can refresh and enrich one another by passing on what we have ourselves enjoyed.

The second letter was from a schoolboy, saying that he had been at a reading on Old Testament saints who, as pilgrims and sojourners, dwelt in tents, and that we were to be like them in a pious, unworldly walk. That letter gave a double joy—it was good to think of a boy enjoying such impressions, and then the line of thought itself was so helpful and healthy, because we tend to settle down here, whereas we should be passing through as strangers, our hearts and hopes elsewhere, because our commonwealth has its existence in the heavens (Philippians 3: 20), and our life is hid with the Christ in God (Colossians 3: 3).

I just cite these examples to encourage us all to be actively on the line of sharing. That touch which helped and encouraged you will cheer someone else. And to young people who have pen-friends I would say, When writing just put in a little bit that you have enjoyed. It will spread the blessing.
