To be occupied with what God is doing in the present revival profits the soul and exhilarates the affections. He has recovered, and is still recovering, many persons to the light given through Paul, the distinctive light of this unique dispensation. Also He is working subjectively, by the Holy Spirit, in persons to conform them to the image of His Son, and in this way He is beautifying the house of His magnificence (Isaiah 60: 7). Let us not detract from the glory of the assembly as the house of God’s magnificence, for to do so is regarded seriously by God (Micah 2: 9).

When John the baptist got somewhat dull he sent two of his disciples to Jesus to enquire, “Art thou he that is coming, or are we to wait for another?” Jesus did not say, ‘Tell him I am He’. No, He told them to tell John about what was happening in persons, Luke 7: 22. No doubt that would cheer John. So as we are engaged with the glory of what God is doing in His saints at the present time for His own pleasure and satisfaction then we are brightened in our spirits, we are exhilarated in our affections, and enlarged spiritually (Isaiah 60: 5).
