Lord Jesus, we know Thee as living,

How well for Thine own Thou dost care;

On earth we are weak and are needy,

But know we can turn to Thee there.

We know how in love Thou suppliest

The grace for the need of the soul,

For Thou art the blessed Physician,

Thy touch it is maketh us whole.

We think of Thy grace that instructed

The minds of disciples of old,

Thus now we would seek understanding

Of all that Thou wouldest unfold.

We sit at Thy feet, all attentive,

And learn from the Scriptures of Thee;

What wonderful things in its pages

We thus by the Spirit may see.
