OVER THE JORDAN
J. Vanzanten
My hope is now beyond the river,
No bridges there mine eye doth see,
And crossing it is but a matter
Of fixing my rapt gaze on Thee.
Full fruit for God’s own house and temple,
A hundred-fold I want to bring,
In praise and worship without ceasing,
There shall my lips unburdened sing.
With many more of God’s redeemed ones,
The blood of Jesus has procured,
Th’ assembly, vessel of His praises,
Is where God’s worship is assured.
(From verses composed shortly before the Lord took him in May 1970)
