GIFTS FOR GOD It should be among our most treasured privileges that we can bring gifts to God. The priests of old brought daily offerings (literally, ‘gifts’) to Jehovah. They offered the morning and the evening lamb, and each morning and evening they brought fine flour as a continual oblation (Leviticus 6: 20). Let us take up this holy privilege. God would have each of our days set in this rich enclosure—starting and ending with our offering to Him some touch of our fresh appreciation of Christ. Let us rise to this! It is not a prolonged, formal thing. Some thought of Christ from the Scriptures becomes food for you. You enjoy it. Well, carry it a stage further—bring to God in simple thankfulness just what you have enjoyed. He will enjoy it too; it is a priestly gift. He delights in the affectionate presentation to Him of some impression of Christ by those who, by the Holy Spirit, share His love for that Man.

Then night comes. Some further touch as to the perfection of Christ has come to you during the day, and your day ends, as it began, as you simply bring to God some newly-found impression of His beloved Son. Thus are the days of the believer to be sanctified and fruitful.
