FEAR NOT
Fear not, my soul, the darkness all around thee,
Just fix your eyes on Him who is the light;
He trod the path that ended in the glory.
Jesus will guide thee through this dreary night.
Fear not this scene full of abominations,
This world is overcome by Him who died,
Who now is crowned in wondrous exaltation,
Where love and light and glory all reside.
Bear in thy heart the church’s sad departure,
When Jesus standeth knocking on the door,
Soon He will judge in righteous, just displeasure
But have His bride all glorious evermore.
Now see my soul the Lord triumphant reigneth,
And evil flee’eth from before His eyes
His glory everywhere unhindered shineth
And peace across the universe now lies.
Join the refrain proclaiming He is worthy
That every knee before His name should bow,
For He is worthy of all praise and glory
In both the coming day and also now.
But hearken to the ceaseless praises rising,
Unto the Lamb seated upon the throne,
From gladsome hearts His worthiness proclaiming,
His greatness the whole universe doth own.
Behold the city gloriously descending,
God’s glory filling it with radiant light,
And all is suited to His own blest dwelling,
Eternally for His own blest delight.
Behold thy God in majesty and glory,
Sins challenge met in lowliness yet power,
Th’assembly formed in glory, bright, and holy,
Our blessed God, as all in all, we bow.
