that is what I would advise our beloved brother and sister, and

indeed as I speak I take it to myself as much as to any. We

always need to refer to the Lord in any matter; and no matter

is too small, no detail is too small, for Him to enter into our

everyday lives. How thankful we should be for such a Guide!

The children of Israel had the pillar of cloud by day and the

pillar of fire by night; it was there all the time. Whether it was

day or night they could journey under the guiding hand of God

Himself. Mr. Darby wrote,

‘Light divine surrounds thy going,

God Himself shall mark thy way;

Secret blessings, richly flowing,

Lead to everlasting day’.

May we be encouraged by these words, for His name’s sake.
