O Lord what blessings Thou hast given,
That we, while on our way to heaven,
Should share here on our path below
The joys Thou lovest to bestow.
Thou art our Saviour—wondrous thought!
Thy death has our salvation wrought;
Rescued from hell, from sin set free,
Who is a Saviour, Lord, like Thee?
Thou art our glorious risen Lord,
We would be governed by Thy word;
The Spirit sent from Thee above
Gives us the power to walk in love.
Thou art our joy, our life, our crown,
Thoughts of Thy glories, Thy renown,
Now by the Spirit’s power we share,
Our Head in heaven, th’assembly here.
No joys like these can earth afford,
We owe it all to Thee, blest Lord!
For Thou hast set our spirits free
To share these heavenly joys with Thee.
