Attention is called to the richness of glory that enters into the new covenant—that is, what God is as seen in Christ, surrendering Him, giving Him up in love. It is called “the ministry of the Spirit”, which implies that the Spirit has part in it, and the end of the chapter (2

Corinthians 3) brings out that “the Lord is the Spirit”; that is, the two divine Persons who have taken a mediatorial place, are merged in order to make this wonderful thing effective in our hearts.
