THE CHILDREN'S JEWEL-HOUSE
The crown jewels of the Lord Jesus are to be seen at all times by believers and they do not need to be guarded by human means as earthly ones do. There is a guide to them in the first two chapters of the epistle to the Hebrews. His crown is not now one of thorns but of glory from God and honour from the heavenly hosts. The sceptre, symbol of rule, is one of uprightness. Nothing has been left insubject to Him and He rightly holds the orb of world-wide dominion. His subjects rejoice that He is anointed with the oil of gladness above His fellows, and His throne is to the age of ages.
Although there is only one reference in the Scriptures to "jewels" there are many diverse precious stones mentioned. Twelve, all different, were to be worn by the Jewish high-priest, while in the last book of the Bible twelve are also mentioned, some of course the same as those. For pearls and corals men have to dive deep in the ocean bed, while precious stones are won from the earth by miners as is described in such interesting detail in the book of Job, chapter 28. Read also the epistles of Peter and note the seven things that are described as "precious". Are you rich toward God?
