MUSINGS
BUILDERS It is springtime in Britain as this is being written and it is interesting to see the birds gathering materials to build their nests. They are, busily collecting twigs, leaves, moss, and anything, that will help to make the nest strong and secure against the weather, and snug and warm within.
They are a lesson to us, showing how we should all be working together in our local companies to make them safe and happy places. Are you and I actively in this work? What are we contributing that will help to bind the saints together in love in the truth? Are we praying for the brethren? Do we support the meetings by our presence and, if I am a brother, by my contributions? All these things make for the happy, prosperous conditions proper to the local meeting.
Then are we providing what will make the ‘nest’ warm and comfortable? That includes free and happy relationships and impartial hospitality in our homes. It would be sad indeed if one were to bring in anything that would weaken the bonds of love, or cause discord, where peace, joy, and liberty should prevail.
Even more important is it that there should be restful and congenial conditions among us for divine pleasure. If the saints are not together in love and easy relations it is bound to mean that the Lord is to some extent deprived of the restful environment to which He delights to come, in which He rests, and in which God is served.
