GREENWICH, OCTOBER 4TH, 1890
My Dear Brother, — I send a line to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of 1st inst. entreating me for the Lord’s sake and for the sake of those so infinitely precious to Himself to withdraw the word ‘helpless’ in my letter to brother I gladly respond to your entreaty and have written to Mr. accordingly. I am sorry I ever used the word, as it gives an air of irreverence to the sentence, though I believe the context is sufficient to show that irreverence was not in my thoughts. I purpose to make this in measure public.
With love in the Lord,
Believe me,
Your affectionate brother,
F. E. Raven.
