It is the finest thing that ever happened to a Christian to be shut up to God where no creature can help. You are going to have some spiritual promotion; you are going to see how God can get you out of a strait, or sustain you in one. You say, ‘I cannot stand this, I must use my wings’, … used to sing, ‘Had I the wings of a dove I would fly far, far away’. I cannot sing it now because “I know I have them, and the question is, Do I use them? What I mean by the wings of a dove is the energy of the Spirit.
