WHAT IS OPEN TO US

We should be encouraged to see what is open to us. Heaven was opened to Stephen. Heaven was opened to John. Notice that the word is “opened” in each case, implying the active agency of Another, as though in answer to faith and the need that was there. So to us the “opened door” of Philadelphia (Revelation 3: 8) would involve the precious privilege of the Supper and access into all the great thoughts of God. Not only is the door opened but we are welcome, as was said to John—“Come up here”, Revelation 4: 1. What privileges are open to us at the present time! The disciples were with the Lord on the mount of transfiguration and in Gethsemane we can be with Him in anticipation of the coming day of glory. If we suffer with Him, we shall also reign with Him. Suffering with Christ in view of the glory is open to us now and we can have access by faith and in the Spirit’s power into the light of that scene of glory above.
