If there was more, souls would be attracted to it. In Christendom they make the building imposing and attractive. It is only an imitation of the company, which should be morally imposing and attractive.... As far as I see, testimony is more than service, at least so I read John 15. There may be fruit-bearing — one may be a disciple when one is not a witness. The testimony is to set forth the heavenly One on the earth. “He shall testify concerning me”. Christians in general are quite satisfied with service, and have very little idea of testimony. Surely it is deep joy to the heart in any degree to describe Him as He is — exalted, where He is rejected, both in His circle and in our own home circle, as we see in Ephesians.
