May we learn the lesson quickly,

Taught by Jesus to His own,

“Without me ye can do nothing”,

Whether reaped or whether sown.

Keep us Lord in such dependence

As we trust alone on Thee,

Made to feel our utter weakness,

But in Thee our all to be.

Men around feel self-sufficient,

In the world self-satisfied,

May we prove in all our actions,

That in Thee we’re fortified.

Lord in Thee and by Thy Spirit

All we do will be “well done”,

Without Thee we can do nothing,

Thus the victory will be won.

As we glory in Thy Person,

Have in Thee our Object blest,

Thus we are made fit for conflict,

While in spirit, peace and rest.
