While we wait the consummation

Fruit for God is what Thou seekest;

Fruit abundant may there be;

Without Thee we can do nothing,

May we live this more to see.

Keep us, Lord, in Thee abiding,

Thou in us—what bliss indeed!

Part with Thee our present portion,

Thou our hearts in this doth lead.

Of God’s work in us complete,

Praise we every day, Lord Jesus,

Till in heaven we take our seat.

Then our praises shall continue,

Louder, sweeter shall they be,

Bodies changed, together like Thee,

Every way conformed to Thee.
