I WOULD HAVE PROFIT OF THEE” So speaks Paul to Philemon (Philemon 20). This raises the exercising question, ‘Am I a source of profit to my brethren?’ Each of us should be yielding something which adds to the warmth and wealth of the company. In Canaan there were to be such happy, neighbourly relations that you could go into your neighbour’s vineyard and eat of his grapes, or pluck ears from his standing corn (Deuteronomy 23: 24, 25). Thus I profit from my brother’s prosperity. That is very good, but can he profit from me?

We have been such objects of rich divine grace and favour that there should be a constant happy interchange of spiritual substance among us.
