suffered and gone into death itself. He has been into the
grave—our sister is going into the grave—but the Lord has
triumphed over the power of death. He came forth in victory,
and the light of that is in our souls.
It would strengthen us at the present time, dear brethren, to
value the testimony of the Lord and to be strong, as it says
here, “But now be strong, Zerubbabel and be strong, Joshua
son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people
of the land, saith Jehovah, and work”.
That is what is needed, dear hearers; the need today is to
work, the need today is for faithful workmen in the light of 2
Timothy who are prepared to take things on and commit things
into the hands of faithful men. Are you a faithful man? Are you
a faithful sister? Are you prepared to take on the work and, in
the Spirit’s power, take things on and do things for the will and
pleasure of our God? As our brother alluded to Acts 13: 36—
“David … having in his own generation ministered to the will of
God, fell asleep”. Our beloved sister has served the will of
God. May we take it on today, each one. The Lord would
exercise our hearts, I
feel, to take things on.
So it says, “The word that I covenanted with you when ye
came out of Egypt, and my Spirit, remain among you”. Have
you come out of Egypt? The danger always is to drift back into
Egypt; that is the danger. Oh, may the Lord help us to value
the heavenly land and maintain the divine standard of the
truth. Christ on high, the Spirit here, and go on and be working
in view of what comes in these next few verses—“For thus
saith Jehovah of hosts—Yet once, it is a little while, and I will
shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry
land”.
We are in that time, the shaking; what a time it is, dear
hearers. Let us be attentive to the voice of the Lord—“I will
