them to be filth, that I may gain Christ”. That was a believer
speaking. You might say to me, ‘I thought that when he was
converted he would have gained Christ’. Yes, in
one sense, but not in this sense. In other words, it is a great
turning point in a believer’s life when he has one blessed Man
before him, and that is Christ, and his joy and hopes are
connected with a Man in the glory. What spiritual wealth have
you got? What will you take into eternity? Dear young people,
if you were to be taken out of the body tonight, would you
leave everything? Thank God there are scores of people in
this room tonight who will take everything with them. They will
take the knowledge of Jesus, they will take the love of God,
they will take spiritual wealth. I trust one thing they will leave
behind them will be a testimony to the Man who redeemed
them and brought them to God.
May all of us reach these turning points. They are vital.
Christianity is a vital thing. May God just use this word to bless
us, bless us here, young and old tonight, for Jesus’ sake.
