EXTRACTS FROM LETTERS
Following are extracts from letters written by Mrs. Ruth
Hardwick (widow of Mr.P. H.
Hardwick), whom the Lord took on 6th January 1989. They
have kindly been made available by Mrs. G. Cossham.
3 Nov., 1983
What it means to us, when we can no longer care for
ourselves, to prove a Father’s care. This now means you can
give your time up to what I know is so near your heart, to learn
more of the way God in His love brings us into touch with the
great sphere of things in His own mind—Christ, and the
assembly, now and eternally to be for His praise. It is such
depth, and yet the Holy Spirit in us is the power to search
things out.
We have been going through much exercise … as you know.
God’s love will have every matter thoroughly searched out.
Persons are not the issue, but the truth, so guarded and
preserved by those who have gone before. Now it means
prayer and fasting and much patience to be with the Lord in all
matters.

I had the report that you were safely through the operation
…What peace it gives us to know not one thing is unknown to
our faithful Creator … I do pray for you that the sense of the
nearness of the Lord Jesus may help you with patience and
peace, for it may be a few weeks before medical treatment
shows the result …

proved specially when we so need it, but never more precious
to each one of us than when we remember that He gave His
