... I do not find myself equal to very much, but I do not desire physical strength so much as grace and spiritual power to be amongst the saints in some little way for their comfort and furtherance of faith and joy in the Lord. How one covets [p. 43] the simplicity of a heart that has really but one Object! So many carnal and natural influences pull this way and that, and we are swayed by them if not held fast by the love of Christ. It is blessed to return to a sense of that love, but more blessed ever to abide in it. Yet it is changeless, in spite of our fickleness. Blessed be His Name!
