Hymn 179 — O praise the Saviour for His love,
| 179 | J. TAYLOR, 3RD | L.M. |
| 1 |
O praise the Saviour for His love, To take one to Himself above! These blessed words our hearts suffice -- "Today -- with Me -- in paradise."
| 2 |
He knows His sheep, they hear His voice, Are owned by Him, His sovereign choice. Then praise Him, God's beloved Son, Who has o'er death the vict'ry won!
| 3 |
How better far than earth's rewards! In life or death we are the Lord's! Despite all Satan could contrive, In Christ shall all be made alive.
| 4 |
And "Jesus wept"! such feelings shown For one He loved and called His own! The love of God exceeds our boast, In Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
| 5 |
Yes! God will bring them: every ear The Lord's assembling shout shall hear. They'll rise, and we with them shall be Caught up to dwell, O Lord, with Thee.
| 6 |
In purpose, called, now justified, Conformed to Thee -- thus glorified, And gathered round Thyself adored, We'll be for ever with Thee, Lord!
