Hymn 65 — Lord, as now Thy people gather,
| 65 | A. E. WEST | 8.7.8.7. |
| 1 |
Lord, as now Thy people gather, We delight in Thee as Head, Thou dost cherish Thine assembly, Glorious Firstborn from the dead.
| 2 |
In the world Thou art rejected, Thine authority disowned. Here we seek to guard Thine interests, Thou art in our hearts enthroned.
| 3 |
Help us as we now consider How to care for what is Thine. May we move as faithful bondmen, Subject to Thy will divine!
| 4 |
Boldness we would seek for meeting That which Satan may contrive; All we need in skill and wisdom We would now from Thee derive.
| 5 |
Thou dost trust in Thine assembly To be faithful to Thy Name, As a pure and shining witness, Wholly sep'rate, without blame.
| 6 |
Soon the trump will sound from heaven Calling us from earth away, Then the vessel Thou hast purchased Will be ready for display.
