Hymn 53 — We'll sing of God's wonderful gospel,
| 53 | G. COWIE | 9.8.9.8. |
| 1 |
We'll sing of God's wonderful gospel, Glad tidings concerning His Son! Christ's Person, His work, and His glory, We love Him for all He has done.
| 2 |
Equality His in the Godhead, His Person is ever the Same; But stooping in grace into manhood To save us, lost sinners, He came.
| 3 |
His work, praise His Name! He completed Alone, when He died on the tree; The judgment of sin was His burden, He bore it for you and for me.
| 4 |
Triumphant His present position, Ascended at God's own right hand, Attesting God's full satisfaction; Accepted in Him now we stand.
| 5 |
The Father's delight is in Jesus, And those whom His blood has secured, The Spirit would keep Him before us, Our living and glorious Lord.
| 6 |
Through Christ we have present salvation, From sin and the world would we turn, And walk here in true separation, Awaiting our Lord's near return.
