The first desire of the heart should be to be with the Lord. The man delivered from the devils (Luke 8: 38) besought that he might be with Him, but the Lord sends him on a mission to be here for Him. So it is with us either to be with Him or for Him. I do not find many who can answer the question: What is your Father’s purpose for you? His purpose for you He has accomplished. Many an earthly father has a purpose for his child which he is unable to accomplish, but God has accomplished His purpose, He has set each of us in the body as it has pleased Him. How many are there who have conscious knowledge of His purpose for us? The church’s charter dates from Christ’s rejection by man. All our privileges are derived from Christ at the right hand of God. First, sins gone - He has sat down; secondly, the Holy Spirit come from the exalted Man; thirdly, He is our Priest in heaven; fourthly, heavenly blessings are ours; fifthly, the assembly is His only spot on earth, and as we understand the mystery we own it here; sixthly, the rapture; seventhly, we shall reign with Him.

May your heart so know the resources which are in Christ that your cup may be full.
